Christian Right Ruling As Kings?

“Dominion has to do with control. Dominion has to do with rulership. Dominion has to do with authority and subduing and it relates to society. In other words, what the values are in Heaven need to be made manifest here on earth. Dominion means being the head and not the tail. Dominion means ruling as kings. It says in Revelation Chapter 1:6 that He has made us kings and priests – and check the rest of that verse; it says for dominion. So we are kings for dominion.
— C. Peter Wagner, Dominionist and Rick Perry supporter, 8-30-11

Fellow Americans, please be very aware of the Dominionists! –AB

AFA, Big Oil, Climate Change, EPA, Response Prayer Rally, Rick Perry

According to media sources, Tupelo MS’s Tax Exempt AFA paid for Rick Perry’s “Response” political rally for president and lied about it, calling it an apolitical rally. Perry is considered an important political ally of the Christian Right as they embark on their campaign for Christian Seven Mountains Dominion over America (control of government, education, business, religion, media, family, entertainment) and, gradually, according to pseudo-historian David Barton, dominion over the “whole world”. Hence, the specter of another uninvited “Dark Ages”with all its accompanying barbaric human rights violations and right-wing Christian contrived horrors. –ab

“The New Guy”

by Gene Karpinski, HP, Aug. 17, 2011

The “Washington Post” claims Gov. Rick Perry is a “climate science denier”…

“Perry makes clear that he would take down every environmental and public health protection implemented in our nation if given the chance. One of the first policy positions he’s asserted since announcing his candidacy is to call for a ‘moratorium on all regulations’ including EPA safeguards meant to protect the air we breathe and water we drink.”

Rick Perry’s “Texas Miracle” Con Job 8-12-11

by Earl Ofari Hutchinson, HP, Aug. 12, 2011

“Texas governor and reported GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry is the nation’s greatest political con artist. His so called ‘Texas Miracle’ has been totally debunked as a fraud. Yet Perry, with generous help from conservative business leaders, tea party acolytes, and suddenly revved up evangelicals will keep the con very much alive. The so-called miracle that Perry and his backers peddle is of course that Texas is the runaway national model for how to create lots of private sector jobs, with minimal government red tape, and with a pittance of taxes. It’s the state where the good times are supposedly rolling for everyone, while the bad times are piling up for everyone in every other state.”

Rick Perry’s Unanswered Prayers 8-12-11

By Timothy Egan, NYT,8-12-11

Perry is from Paint Creek, an unincorporated hamlet in the infinity of the northwest Texas plains. I’ve been there. In wet years, it’s pretty, the birds clacking on Lake Stamford, the cotton high. This year, it’s another sad moonscape in the Lone Star State.

Over the last 15 years, taxpayers have shelled out $232 million in farm subsidies to Haskell County, which includes Paint Creek — a handout to more than 2,500 recipients, better than one out every three residents. God may not always be reliable, but in Perry’s home county, the federal government certainly is.

Perry, Prayer, Politics & The Presidency 8-9-11

by Peter Montgomery, Right Wing Watch

“Casual viewers of ‘The Response,’ including some political reporters who don’t pay a lot of attention to the Religious Right, may have watched Texas Governor Rick Perry’s prayer rally on Saturday and wondered what all the fuss was about. Most of the time was taken up with prayer and praise music. Few of the speakers seemed overtly political. Nobody used the occasion to endorse Perry’s pending presidential bid.”

“Context for this event was remarkable: a governor launching a presidential bid by teaming up with some of the nation’s most divisive extremists to hold a Christians-only prayer rally.” In essence, suggesting Americans are unable to resolve the nation’s problems without the Almighty’s presence. The issue wasn’t about if it was proper for a “politician to pray, or the size of the audience,” but it was about the purposes of the ‘Response’s planners and their outlook for the overall good of America.

“A Prayer For Rickey Meany”[The AFA May Call Itself Christian….] 8-8-11

by James Moore, 8/08/11, HP

* Error: I don’t think James Dobson was founder of AFA.

“The AFA might call itself Christian but its intolerance has gotten the organization labled as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center because of the nature of written and verbal comments from AFA leaders about gays and Jews. (Both are hell-bound, apparently; Jews because, well, you know, and gays because they have ‘chosen’ an alternative lifestyle.) Of course, AFA says it loves gays and is praying for them to understand the sinful choices they have made. And Jews, well, you know. If AFA believes you can ‘pray away the gay,’ can you get rid of your Jewishness, too?”

Black Ministers Urge Perry To Denounce Divisive Rhetoric At Prayer Event

By Marie Diamond, TP, Aug. 5, 2011

“Tomorrow in Houston, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) will hold his much-anticipated prayer event known as “The Response.” The event has been mired in controversey for weeks as Perry has faced criticism over its exclusion of non-Christians, the hateful rhetoric and beliefs of pastors who are participating, and questions about whether he is violating the separation of church and state.

Now, a group of African-American ministers is urging Perry to publicly denounce the divisive rhetoric of the event’s sponsor, the American Family Association (AFA). The AFA has a long history of “making derogatory remarks about gays and lesbians, progressives, Native Americans, African Americans and non-Christians.”

Leslie Watson Malachi, director of African American Ministers in Action, a nationwide network of African American clergy, expressed his disappointment that Perry “has chosen to ally himself not with voices of unity and hope but with forces of division and intolerance.” His group is asking Perry to use the rally to unite communities with prayer and “pray for a better future for all Americans.”

Well, throw me down! AFA’s Tim Wildmon forgot to mention his involvement in the Seven Mountains Dominionist Crusade which is a plan(originating with Pentecostal Church Activists) to take control and influence of America in seven specific areas: family, religion, education, entertainment, business, media and government. One well-known dominionist declared, “if you have those seven areas, you can shape and control whatever takes place in nations, continents, and even the world.”

Who would have ever thought Tim Wildmon might someday sit right in the very lap of the Almighty, endowed with control of the “whole world” ? – ab

“Coming Soon: AFA Documentary Could Save The Republic From Secularists & Gays”

by Peter Montgomery, Right Wing Watch, 8/02/11

“Another reason to get your tickets for this year‘s Value Voters Summit, a fund raising letter from the American Family Association promises that its new “documentary” — Divorcing God: Secularism, Sexual Anarchy and the Future of the Republic — will debut at the VVS, the major annual political gathering for the Religious Right movement.”

Texas Gov. Rick Perry Receives Open Letter From Texas Freedom Network

For Immediate Release
August 4, 2011

“The Texas Freedom Network today sent Gov. Rick Perry an open letter signed by more than 10,000 Texans and others who are concerned that the governor’s prayer rally in Houston this weekend is more about promoting his political career than faith.

The governor asked the American Family Association, which the Southern Poverty Law Center calls a hate group, to organize The Response at Reliant Stadium on Saturday….

The open letter calls on Gov. Perry to make the Houston event ‘open to speakers and attendees of all faiths, as well as welcoming to people of good will who are not affiliated with a faith tradition.’ It also urges him to respect the diverse beliefs of all Texans by ending the association between his office and the American Family Association.”
